The 14th edition of the Mountain Film Meetings takes places on August 30th – September 2nd, 2018 in Zakopane, Poland. Submit your film by 31 May 2018.
14 films will be screened in non-competition section. The films are screened in original with English subtitles.
21 films from 10 countries - screenings at the Cinema Giewont and in the big tent at Górna Rówień Krupowa according to the program listed on our website. Film are screened in original with Polish subtitles.
A meeting about the influence of the mountains on the formation of human personality and attitudes to life in the process of becoming a better person and in pursuit of happiness and fulfillment. Psychological, philosophical, and educational aspects will be discussed. The film "Furia" by Marcello Vai, along with the presentation of the Ski Mountaineering Youth Group of Polish Mountaineering Association which is a great example of educating young people in the mountain environment, will constitute a base to the issues discussed.
Screenings of the selected, best archive Czech films (in Czech language but with Polish subtitles). The screenings are organized in cooperation with the Czech Center and the Historie Dobrodružstvi Foundation, which was established in Ostrava in 2016 to preserve Czech and Czechoslovak achievements in exploration, travel and climbing.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the death of Italian writer Primo Levi, a prisoner of Auschwitz, an eminent writer, and an author of camp memories. His book "If This Is a Man" became a classic of camp literature.

By 1998 each of the five women who had climbed K2 was dead. Three died on their descent, and the two who survived the mountain would later perish on other eight-thousanders. Women of K2 is the first, and only, documentary to focus on these brave women.

The premiere screening of the archive film about the first expedition to K2 by Duke of Abruzzi. The expedition was a milestone on the way to the top of the mountain, which was conquered for the first time in July 1954 by the Italians. Polish expedition plans to climb K2 for the first time in winter 2016/2017.
